Middle year students from Mallard school made Vision board trees in the fall. These were similar to a dream board filled with goal setting, big dreams, and family information. The girls did and outstanding job of teaching the new staff about who they are through the use of their Vision boards and their Tree posters. Great effort by all and a wonderful way to get to know you!
Students at Lightly School had a shocking experience with their Electrical project. Leo from Star Bright Electric came to the school and taught the students how to wire their own switches and outlets. They were also taught how to check polarity and how to troubleshoot.
During the month of January, all Hutterian students and community members participated in online and social media safety presentations aimed at bringing awareness of such issues as online luring, cyber bullying, internet fraud and the impact of social media on mental health and body image. These informative sessions were provided by ISD School Social Worker Kaitlyn Cowie, and were very well received by both students and parents.
Lightly School took to the stores last week to go on a shopping spree. They used their money raised from their pumpkin sales to buy some much needed warm clothing for the Main Street Project in Winnipeg.
