On Wednesday, March 17th we had a chance at some hands-on learning when Leo Wilzer from Star Brite popped in for an encore electrical workshop. His goal was to teach our eager students how to install a 3-way switch and to wire a transformer for a doorbell.

The students at Mallard school did some Lucky Charms graphing. They sorted and graphed the marshmallows bit pieces. They calculated the cereal piece mass and the percentage of total marshmallow bits per box.

“Calendar Math” Everyday we use the date to come up with as many number sentences as possible! On January 12th, the kids worked together to come up with 32 different ways to make the number 12. ” Solids ” We have been learning about the States of Matter in Science and had a brainstorm session where the students came up with 49 different examples of solids that they find in their everyday lives.
