Colony Schools throughout the Interlake School Division worked together even though kept apart by Covid, to show respect and empathy for the loss of 215 children at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.
Each school honored the children and their families by coloring a feather drawn by Michelle Stoney, a Gitxsan artist. Michelle had shared her drawing through different social media posts and asked that it could be used to demonstrate understanding of the loss.
Schools colored a combined total of over 215 feathers honoring the lives lost.
